If your gluten-free flour blend does not already contain xanthan gum, add ¼ teaspoon to this recipe. I used Bob’s Red Mill 1-to-1 Gluten-Free Baking Flour (blue bag) that already contains xanthan gum for this recipe.
If you do not have buttermilk, you can combine ½ cup of whole milk with a teaspoon of vinegar and let it sit for 5 minutes.
If you would like to make this recipe dairy-free, you can use an unsweetened non-dairy milk of your choosing and dairy-free butter.
