On a floured surface, roll out the pie crust. Using a rolling pin, flatten the pie crust down to ⅛ inch thick.
Using a circular cookie cutter, cut out as many circles as you can to create the pies. The number of pies depends on the size of your cutter
Place apple pie filling in the center of each circle. Depending on the size of your cutter, you should fit 1 or 2 apple slices on each.
In a small bowl, whisk the egg until it is beaten. Using your finger or a small brush, coat the edge of each dough circle with egg wash. Close the hand pie, forming a half circle around the apple slices and use a fork to compress the edges of the pie.
Puncture vent holes on the top of each hand pie with the tip of a knife and brush the outside of each hand pie with more egg wash.
Air Fry as directed in the recipe card below. The hand pies are finished when they are golden brown.
I was able to make 16 hand pies with two boxes of pie dough. You may get less or more, depending on the size of your circle cutter.
You can use homemade pie dough to make these as well.
Swap out the apple filling for any other fruit pie filling you like.
