Add the tamari, brown sugar, olive oil, garlic, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes to a bowl. Stir to combine. Pour over the short ribs and mix until the short ribs are covered. Let marinade for at least 2 hours, up to 8 hours.
Preheat the air fryer to 360F for 5 minutes. Place the short ribs in the air fryer basket, with the meat portion facing down. You may need to cook the short ribs in batches depending on how big they are and how big your basket is.
Cook at 360°F/180°C for 10 minutes. Flip the ribs and then brush with leftover marinade if desired.
Cook an additional 10-15 minutes, until the ribs reach an internal temperature of about 190°F. Let the ribs sit for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh parsley and enjoy.

Notes
These are English cut short ribs with the bone-in and the meat sits on top of the bone. Short ribs also sometimes come boneless or flank cut, which are cut across the bone.
If you are gluten-free, use tamari instead of soy sauce. You can also use coconut aminos if you prefer.
