Pork steaks are a great cut of meat to use when you’re looking for something quick to cook, flavorful, and inexpensive. We’re seasoning our pork steaks with a delicious spice rub and air-frying them until crisp and juicy.
Preheat the air fryer to 400ºF/200ºC for 5 minutes.
Pat the pork steaks dry with a paper towel and set them aside.
In a small bowl, combine the olive oil and spices (salt, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, sage, rosemary, and black pepper) to create a spice paste.
Rub the paste over the pork steaks, making sure to coat them on all sides.
Place the pork steaks in the air fryer basket and place 1 tablespoon of butter on each piece of pork.
Cook at 400ºF/200ºC for 8 minutes and then let the pork rest in the air fryer for an additional 5 minutes. The internal temperature should be 145ºF/71ºC – if it isn’t cook the pork for an additional 2 minutes and test again.
Serve pork steaks with your favorite sides and enjoy.
Notes
Storage: Store any leftover pork steaks in an airtight container in the fridge for up to two days. Both boneless and bone-in pork steaks work great in this recipe. Bone-in cuts of meat have a more intensified flavor overall but may require a slightly longer cooking time. This recipe uses bone-in pork steaks so the additional cooking time is already added in.You can prep your thawed pork steaks the night before by seasoning the steaks and allowing them to sit in an airtight container overnight. Let the steaks come to room temperature and proceed to air fry when ready to use. Use a meat thermometer to read the internal temperature of your cooked pork. The temperature of cooked pork should be 145ºF/63ºC at a minimum, but if you prefer well-done pork, you can cook it up to 160ºF/71ºC.
