This homemade air fryer BBQ chicken pizza is going to knock your socks off! Completely made from scratch, you are in control of the ingredients, making it a pleasingly customizable & versatile dish!
1 Pizza pie pan big enough to hold 8" pizza base and allow for expansion
Ingredients
Pizza Dough
1 ½cupwaterwarmed to 110ºF/43ºC
2tspsugar
2 ¼tspdry yeast
3 ½cupsall-purpose flour
2tbspolive oil
2tspsalt
Pizza Toppings
1cupbbq saucedivided
2cupsmozzarella cheeseshredded & divided
½cuppurple onionsdiced & divided
2cupschicken breastcooked, diced & divided
Instructions
Pizza Dough
Add to a large bowl your warm water, and yeast. Stir and mix. Allow your yeast to proof for about five minutes.
After the five minutes, add in your sugar, flour, olive oil, and salt. Mix until fully incorporated.
Knead with the dough hook for about five minutes on medium speed if using a stand mixer. If using your hands, transfer the dough ball to a lightly floured flat surface and knead for about 10 minutes.
Transfer your dough ball to a lightly oiled bowl. Cover with a clean towel for 2 hours, or until doubled in size.
Pizza Assembly
Once the dough has doubled in size, transfer to a lightly floured surface. Divide your dough ball into two sections. Preheat the air fryer to 380ºF/193ºC.
Roll your dough using a rolling pin until it is 8 inches in diameter. Using 1 tablespoon of butter, grease your pie pan. Transfer your pizza dough to your pan. Press to flatten down on the bottom of the pan.
In the preheated air fryer, cook your dough on 380°F/193ºC for 4 minutes.Remove, and then top your dough with 1/4 cup BBQ sauce, 1/4 cup cheese spread evenly, 1/4 cup of chicken, 1/8 cup onions. Then add 1/4 more cup of cheese on top. Cook for another 6 minutes.
Repeat steps 2 to 5 with the rest of the dough.Serve and enjoy!
