Ingredients required to make homemade air fryer chicken bbq pizza

Pizza Dough ingredients:

  • Water – Water is needed to bind the dry ingredients
  • Sugar – To tenderize and add shelf life to your dough
  • Dry yeast – Without yeast, your pizza dough would not rise!
  • All-purpose flour – You can’t make dough without flour!
  • Olive oil – Oil added to your dough helps to improve the texture and the taste!
  • Salt – Without salt, your pizza dough would be extremely bland and would not hold its shape!

Pizza Toppings:

  • BBQ sauce – The base ingredient! (Well, the base on our base, anyway!)
  • Shredded mozzarella cheese – Pizza needs cheese, and the meltier the better!
  • Purple onions – Your pizza needs a sweet onion to balance out the flavor. And purple onions are nice & colorful too!
  • Cooked chicken breast -You can’t have BBQ chicken pizza without the chicken!

Equipment

  • 1 Pizza pie pan big enough to hold 8" pizza base and allow for expansion

Ingredients

Pizza Dough

  • 1 ½ cup water warmed to 110ºF/43ºC
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 2 ¼ tsp dry yeast
  • 3 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tsp salt

Pizza Toppings

  • 1 cup bbq sauce divided
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese shredded & divided
  • ½ cup purple onions diced & divided
  • 2 cups chicken breast cooked, diced & divided

Instructions

Pizza Dough

  • Add to a large bowl your warm water, and yeast. Stir and mix. Allow your yeast to proof for about five minutes.
  • After the five minutes, add in your sugar, flour, olive oil, and salt. Mix until fully incorporated.
  • Knead with the dough hook for about five minutes on medium speed if using a stand mixer. If using your hands, transfer the dough ball to a lightly floured flat surface and knead for about 10 minutes.
  • Transfer your dough ball to a lightly oiled bowl. Cover with a clean towel for 2 hours, or until doubled in size.

Pizza Assembly

  • Once the dough has doubled in size, transfer to a lightly floured surface. Divide your dough ball into two sections. Preheat the air fryer to 380ºF/193ºC.
  • Roll your dough using a rolling pin until it is 8 inches in diameter.
Using 1 tablespoon of butter, grease your pie pan. Transfer your pizza dough to your pan. Press to flatten down on the bottom of the pan.
  • In the preheated air fryer, cook your dough on 380°F/193ºC for 4 minutes.
Remove, and then top your dough with 1/4 cup BBQ sauce, 1/4 cup cheese spread evenly, 1/4 cup of chicken, 1/8 cup onions. Then add 1/4 more cup of cheese on top. Cook for another 6 minutes.
  • Repeat steps 2 to 5 with the rest of the dough.
    Serve and enjoy!
