Air-fried apples are a household staple…especially if you grew up in the South!

They’re normally made in a skillet, which can be messy…and a hassle to clean up.

This recipe keeps the mess in the air fryer and is done in less than 15 minutes!

What You’ll Need

  • Apples: This should be an obvious one!
  • Cinnamon & sugar: Premixed cinnamon and sugar will work too.
  • Butter; To coat the apples and help the cinnamon and sugar to stick.

How to Make Them

  1. Wash the apples then cut them into quarters and remove the seeds. If the peel is dense and tough, cut it off. If the peel is thin, it can be left. Cut apples into cubes and put in a bowl.
  2. Add melted butter. Mix together cinnamon with sugar, add 2/3 of the resulting mixture.
  3. Mix the apples with the butter, cinnamon, and sugar. Line the air fryer basket with parchment paper and add the apples. Cook at 320F for 5 minutes.
  4. Stir and bake for another 3 minutes. Apples are ready when they become soft. Larger or tougher apple pieces may take longer.
  5. Transfer the apples to the bowl.
  6. Sprinkle it with the remaining sugar and cinnamon and serve!

How to Serve

  • These apples complement pork and chicken dishes well. I recommend our air fryer pork chops.
  • Pair these apples with ice cream for a classic Southern dessert.
  • For breakfast, try these apple cinnamon waffles.
  • And, of course, these work well for applesauce.

Storage and Reheating

These apples will keep in the fridge for 4-5 days if you put them in an airtight container.

They can be frozen for up to 3 months.

Reheat thawed apples in the microwave for about 30 seconds.
