Ingredients you’ll Need

  • Crescent Roll Sheets: Iโ€™m using a crescent roll sheet because theyโ€™re easier to cut and work with. If you canโ€™t find the sheets, you can use a standard can of crescent rolls. Just pinch the seams together so you have one big piece of dough and then follow the directions as written.
  • “Lit’l Smokies” Mini Sausages: I like all-beef mini cocktail sausages but feel free to use your favorite mini sausage. Just make sure itโ€™s fully cooked.

Steps to Make

  1. Line the bottom of your air fryer with parchment paper and set it asideโ€“ no need to preheat it!
  2. Unroll the crescent sheet and use a pizza cutter to cut it into 16 ยฝ-inch thick strips. Make sure to cut along the shorter side of the rectangleโ€“ the strips should be ยฝ inch thick and 8 inches long.
  3. Then cut the strips in half the other way to create 32 pieces of dough.
  4. Roll one piece of dough around one mini sausage and pinch the end to ensure it wonโ€™t come unrolled. Repeat with the remaining dough and sausages.
  5. Place a few pigs in a blanket on top of the parchment paper but make sure not to overcrowd the pan as the dough will puff up as it cooks.
  6. Air fry the pigs in a blanket at 320ยฐF/160ยฐC for 7 minutes, or until they are golden brown.
  7. Remove the pigs in a blanket and place them on a serving platter and continue to cook them in batches until they are all ready.
  8. Serve with your favorite dipping sauce and enjoy.

  • Enjoy these pigs in a blanket with any of your favorite dipping saucesโ€“ ketchup, mustard, honey mustard, ranch, hot sauce, etc. Iโ€™m serving them with Dijon honey mustard! To make it, stir together ยผ cup grainy Dijon mustard and ยผ cup honey.
  • Don’t overcrowd the air fryer. That may hinder the crisping-up process. Cook them in multiple batches until all the pigs are ready to snack on.
  • Storage Tips: Store any leftover pigs in a blanket in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days.
  • Place your pigs in a blanket on perforated square parchment paper (designed for the air fryer) in your air fryer for easy cleanup.

The Best way to serve pigs in a blanket

You always need a great sauce when serving finger foods. Ketchup is a favorite of kids, but we think these little bites would be great dipped in Bitchin Sauce, Sweet and Spicy Sriracha Sauce, and Smoky Red Pepper Crema.

Are these little bites making you thirsty? If you’re hosting a party for kids, try our Kiddie Cocktail that’s fruity, bubbly, and so fun. And for the adult crowd, you’ll love this Malibu Sunrise cocktail.

FAQ

Can I put pigs in a blanket in the air fryer?

You can. In fact, the air fryer allows the pastry to puff up even better than in the oven. You’ll love this new technique on this classic snack.

Why are my pigs in a blanket soggy?

There must be an excess of moisture coming from somewhere. Try wrapping the mini sausages in paper towels to absorb any moisture before wrapping them in the dough.

Can you reheat pigs in a blanket the next day?

Of course. Reheat them in the air fryer at 320ยฐ F for 3-5 minutes until completely warmed through.
