Recipe tips and tricks

  • Nut Allergy? This recipe is very easy to adapt. You can simply leave the pecans out or you can substitute some seeds such as pumpkin seeds.
  • What Spices Go with Apples? There are a variety of spices that pair well with apples: cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg top my list!
  • Skins or no skins – If you are a texture-sensitive person, you can peel the apples ahead of time, however the apples might not hold their shape well.
  • Microwave – If you do not want to use your air fryer, you can cook these in the microwave. Simply swap in the microwave for the air fryer in step 4. Cook for 5 minutes, add toppings, and cook for 30 more seconds.
  • Apple Type – Any type of apple should work for this recipe. So go ahead and pick your favorite apple!
  • Reheating – This air fryer spiced apple recipe will reheat. I find it is best eaten the day of or the day after it is made.
