Making bagels in the air fryer has never been easier! With just four simple ingredients, air fryer bagels are light and fluffy with a crisp exterior and soft crumb. Best of all—we use self-rising flour so you don’t have to worry about waiting for them to rise.
Kneading, proofing time, and poaching can turn making bagels into a tedious process. But not with this recipe. There’s no kneading, no proofing, and no poaching. All you need to make these air fryer bagels is flour, greek yogurt, an egg, and seasoning, and they’re done in less than half an hour.

These air fryer bagels are way better than the store-bought ones. They’re great for breakfast—especially on those busy mornings when you need an easy grab-and-go meal.
Why You’ll Love Air Fryer Bagels
- Packed with protein! These bagels are made with greek yogurt (a great source of protein) which means they’ll keep you full longer.
- No preservatives, no additives. Some store-bought bagels have azodicarbonamide and potassium bromate, two dangerous “dough enhancers” that are actually banned in some countries. Not these air fryer bagels, with just 4 simple ingredients, you know exactly what’s in them (and what’s not).
- Quick, easy, and done in 25 minutes. It takes just 5 minutes to make the dough, 10 minutes to cook them in the air fryer, and 10 minutes to let them cool, and then they’re ready!

Recipe Tips & Tricks
- Use self-rising flour. Self-rising flour is simply all-purpose flour that has salt and baking powder added to it. You can make your self-rising flour but you can NOT substitute only all-purpose flour in this recipe.
- Use your favorite seasoning. I love making these with Everything Bagel Seasoning, but you can add sesame seeds, pumpkin spice seasoning, poppyseeds, jalapenos, or even add cheese and turn them into Asiago bagels.
- Don’t overcrowd your air fryer basket. These bagels will increase in size as they cook in the air fryer. Don’t place them too close together, or else they’ll stick together.
- Let your bagels cool for 10 minutes. After you take the bagels out of the air fryer, let them rest for at least 10 minutes before slicing—this will prevent them from becoming gummy in the center.
How to Store Air Fryer Bagels
You can store any leftover bagels in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days. Or, store them in the freezer in an airtight container for up to 3 months.
If you freeze them, make sure you give the bagels time to defrost and come to room temperature before toasting.
What to Serve with Air Fryer Bagels
You can’t go wrong with a simple cream cheese spread. Or, turn it into a bagel avocado toast with some freshly sliced avocado, feta cheese, sliced hard-boiled eggs, and bagel seasoning. We also love to use them to make egg and cheese breakfast sandwiches.
You could also make a full breakfast to accompany your bagels, complete with Air Fryer Sausage Patties, Air Fryer Scrambled Eggs, and Air Fryer Bacon. Alongside a refreshing Caribbean Passion Smoothie (Jamba Juice Copycat), this breakfast doesn’t get any better than that!

Air Fryer Bagels
Equipment
Ingredients
- 2 cups self-rising flour
- 1½ cups plain Greek yogurt
- 1 egg beaten with a splash of water
- 2 tbsp seasoning sesame seeds, poppy seeds, coarse salt, everything bagel, etc.
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, mix together the self-rising flour and Greek yogurt until a shaggy dough forms.
- Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and divide it into 4 pieces.
- Roll each piece into a smooth log (about 8” long) and then shape it into a circle.
- Pinch the seams to seal the dough together (so it doesn’t lose its shape while cooking).
- Place as many bagels as will fit into your air fryer (they will increase in size slightly so don’t overcrowd the air fryer basket). Brush the bagels with egg wash and then sprinkle with your seasoning of choice.
- Air fry the bagels at 350ºF (176ºC) for 10 minutes, or until they are golden brown on the outside and fully cooked on the inside.
- Allow the bagels to cool for at least 10 minutes before slicing – this will prevent them from becoming gummy in the center.
Notes
- This recipe can be made in an air fryer unit with a basket or an air fryer oven. If you are using an air fryer oven, use the middle rack and choose the “Air Fry” function.
- Check your food as it cooks. Each air fryer runs a bit differently. Make sure to check your food as it’s cooking to learn your air fryer better and avoid over- or undercooking.
