FAQs
Of course, we aren’t actually boiling these eggs. Instead we are cooking them with the convection heat given by the air fryer.
It’s okay if you don’t want to call these hard “boiled” eggs since they aren’t being cooked in boiling water, but these eggs do come out cooked just the same as if they were boiled.

I tried this and will never do it again.
I have a Ninja Air Fryer. I could not even get it to air fry at 270. I had to put it on “roast.”
I cut a couple of minutes off as instructed because my kind of air fryer is allegedly hotter.
The eggs were very soft-boiled on the inside. All twelve of them and were EXTREMELY difficult to peel even after a 6+ minute ice bath. Most of the eggs, stuck to the shells and ended up in the trash.
From now on, I’ll stick to my Instantpot to do eggs.
Hello Tenderrlee! Thanks for writing. Sorry to hear that your machine wasn’t able to do the eggs on an air fryer mode at 270F. Each machine does run differently and can be confusing. If you are up for experimenting, I would do 1-2 eggs at a time and experiment and adjust. Or using your instant pot works well too!
My air fryer only goes to 200 degrees C.
My eggs exploded cracked and were a total mess.
Why?
The recipe is written for 270F not C, so it looks like you cooked them at too high of a temperature if you cooked them at 200C. I updated the recipe to also give the conversion for C. It would be around 132C. I hope that helps ๐ – The AFE Team
Do you puncture the shell before air frying?
Nope! The shells can stay intact.
Thank you Kenneth
