Air Fryer Pumpkin Seeds are a delicious crunchy snack your entire family will enjoy! After you carve your pumpkins toss the seeds into the air fryer for a crisp snack!
Pumpkins are so much more than a decoration. Of course, we love to carve pumpkins each year, but we also like to use our pumpkins in the kitchen too.
We love to roast pie pumpkins to make pumpkin puree. We love the pumpkin flavor and can't get enough of it!

How to clean pumpkin seeds:
Carving and cleaning out the pulp and seeds of a pumpkin can truly be a sensory experience. There are lots of different textures inside that pumpkin!

- Separate the seeds from the pulp as best you can.
- Put the seeds in a small holed strainer and rinse. Remove pulp that is stuck.
- Repeat and rinse if needed until pulp is all removed.
How to make air fryer pumpkin seeds:

- Add the seeds to the air fryer basket. Air Fry at 360F/183C for 15 minutes.
Air Fryer Pumpkin Seed Tips:
Boil the seeds - You "can" air fry the seeds without boiling but we have found that it's best to boil first.
You do not need to dry the seeds out before air frying. We fry the pumpkin seeds wet.
The pumpkin seeds do not fly around. That is a common question that we get. We have made this many times and haven't had that problem. I believe the weight of the wet seeds helps them not to fly.
You can adjust the flavors. Add any spices you'd like.
We love that these pumpkin seeds are:
gluten free
nut free
egg free
dairy free (if you use dairy free butter)
Pro Tips
- Use Any Air Fryer: This recipe can be made in an air fryer unit with a basket or an air fryer oven. If you're using an air fryer oven, place your food on the middle rack and select the "air fry" function.
- Check your food as it cooks! Since each air fryer runs differently, sometimes air frying is a trial and error process. When cooking a new recipe, be sure to check on your food often. This will help you avoid over or undercooking, and help you learn your air fryer's specific ways!

You might be psychic: this recipe push couldn't be better timed.
While I had a semi-pumpkin-soup fail (because we're new to this town and our grocery store, and I couldn't locate unsweetened coconut milk, accepted an employee's help, and procured what amounted to heavily sweetened Goya coconut syrup... >_<), I saved the seeds to roast. Definitely doing your tip on boiling, and I'm thinking cajun spiced. <3

Yay!!!!! Glad the timing worked out!! Cajun spiced is going to taste amazing. That' stinks for the soup semi fail! 🙂

I’ve made pumpkin seeds using this recipe twice now, and both times they came out great!
