Collage of photos showing the steps to make cookie dough in the air fryer.
  1. (Optional) Roll the cookie dough pieces into balls and flatten them into ⅓” thick discs. This is optional because the cookies will bake just fine in their square shape but if you want perfectly round cookies, you’ll want to roll them into balls.
  2. Line the bottom of your air fryer with parchment paper and place a few pieces of cookie dough on the parchment. Make sure to place the cookie dough at least 1.5” inches apart as it will spread when it bakes.
  3. Air fry the cookies at 330ÂşF/165ÂşC for 7 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crisp on the edges. Allow the cookies to sit in the air fryer for 5 minutes to fully set and then remove them to a wire rack.
  4. Repeat steps 1-2 with the remaining cookie dough. Be careful – the air fryer basket will be hot!

Recipe Tips and Tricks

  • To make the “mini” cookies in the air fryer, follow the same directions but reduce the cooking time to 5 minutes.
  • For a salty-sweet treat, try sprinkling your cookies with a pinch of flakey sea salt when they come out of the air fryer.
  • You can always add your favorite treats to store-bought cookies. Simply press chopped nuts, M&Ms, or more chocolate chips into the top of the cookie dough before baking.
  • Lining your air fryer basket with parchment paper before placing the cookie dough balls inside makes cleanup much easier and helps prevent the cookies from sticking to the basket.
  • Storage: Store any leftover cookies in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days.

It must be mentioned, that there is nothing better than the classic pairing of a tall glass of cold milk with freshly baked cookies. But if you want to step it up a notch, try dipping these cookies in homemade Vegan Horchata or Vegan Hot Chocolate. So fancy!

You could also serve your cookies with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for a delicious ice cream sundae. Don’t forget to add all your favorite toppings, like sprinkles and hot fudge.

If you’re looking for a more savory option, try serving your cookies with a cup of hot tea or an oat milk latte. The bitterness of the coffee or tea can help balance the sweetness of the cookies, creating a delicious balance of flavors.

FAQs

Can you cook raw cookie dough in the air fryer?

Absolutely. You will air fry the premade cookie dough at 330ÂşF/165ÂşC for 7 minutes, or until the cookies are golden brown and crisp on the edges.

How long should I air fry cookie dough?

In this recipe, we are air frying the cookie dough for 7 minutes. But we always recommend you start with one cookie to determine if that is too long (or not long enough) before you put a full batch in.

Do you have to use parchment paper for cookies in an air fryer?

You don’t necessarily have to use parchment paper for cookies in an air fryer, but it can be a helpful tool to prevent the cookies from sticking to the air fryer basket.

Parchment paper can also help prevent the air fryer basket from getting too dirty or greasy, which can make cleanup easier in the long run. If you don’t have parchment paper, you can use this cooking spray to help prevent sticking.
