The simple ingredients needed to make an easy air fryer dinner with chicken.

Ingredients In This Easy Air Fryer Dinner Recipe

Chicken – Take a boneless, skinless chicken breast or two, and cut the meat into cubes that are about 1 inch. Try to keep the pieces all about the same size so that they cook quickly and evenly.

Potatoes – Use regular white potatoes, or try Yukon golds. Cut them into short french-fry-sized strips. Again, keep the potato pieces all about the same size.

Oil – A small amount of olive oil helps the food in the air fryer to brown and crisp up perfectly.

Seasonings – Open up your spice cupboard, and grab your favorite dried herbs, salt, pepper, paprika, onion and garlic powder, and some coriander for a curry-like taste.

How to Make A Quick and Easy Air Fryer Dinner

  1. Start with the Potatoes. Add them to a mixing bowl with half of the olive oil and half of the seasonings. Mix well to coat.
  2. Air Fry the potatoes first, in a single layer in your air fryer basket, for 10 minutes at 400°F/200°C.
  3. Then Season the Chicken. While the potatoes are air frying, add the chicken to bowl and season with the remaining oil, salt, pepper, herbs, and spices.
  4. Mix Well so that the chicken is completely coated.
  5. Now, Add the Chicken to the Air Fryer. Move the potatoes over so that they only take up half of the air fryer basket. Add the seasoned chicken to the other side.
  6. Air Fry Again, for 12 minutes at 400°F/200°C. If the chicken or potatoes seem to need more time to get brown, flip everything over with a spatula, and continue cooking for 3-5 more minutes.

Air Fryer Dinner Recipe Tips

  • Adjust the Seasonings. Instead of the spices and herbs listed here, make things even easier and use your favorite spice blend. Italian seasoning, Cajun seasoning, or Jerk seasoning would all be tasty. Add a bit of chili powder or cayenne to the mix if you like it spicy!
  • Temp the chicken. Chicken is fully cooked when it reaches an internal temperature of 165°F. Use a thermometer to check a few pieces to be sure that they’re good to go.
  • Instead of potatoes, you can use other root vegetables, such as carrots or sweet potatoes. These veggies might cook a bit more quickly though, so be ready to pull them out early if needed.
  • Add sliced onion and/or bell pepper in with the chicken to add even more flavor, and get some veggies in the mix.
  • Make loaded air fryer chicken and potatoes! Cook this meal as directed, then stir, and top with shredded cheese, bacon bits, and sliced green onion. Air fryer for another minute or two to melt.
