I love using refrigerated rolls to make yummy air fryer sweets! Air Fryer Monkey Bread, Air Fryer Pumpkin Spice Bites, and Air Fried Oreos all use some type of refrigerated rolls to create simple, fast desserts.
List of ingredients
- Cream Cheese – Cream cheese underneath the cherries adds a creamy texture and helps to balance out the sweetness.
- Crescent Rolls – Two cans of crescent roll dough will make 16 danishes. You can cut this recipe in half if you want to cook fewer.
- Cherry Pie Filling – You’ll need about a half a can or 10 ounces of pie filling. I love how simple canned pie filling makes desserts. I make a Cherry Delight Dessert with canned pie filling that is delicious too!
- Powdered Sugar – to give the cream cheese some sweetness.
No pie filling?
You can use any type of jam or preserves instead of the pie filling. You can also try adding chocolate chips, or fresh fruit on top of the cream cheese mixture.
Tips and tricks
- Don’t crowd the air fryer basket. batches to cook all 16 danishes.
- Check on your food. All air fryers cook a bit differently. Check on your danish a few minutes before the end of the cook time to ensure they don’t burn.
- Substitute your favorite canned pie filling for the cherries. Try apple, blueberry, or raspberry! You can also leave out the fruit and make simple cheese danishes.
- To reduce the sugar in this recipe, you can omit the powdered sugar. You can also look for low-sugar or no-sugar-added pie filling at your store.
Serving Ideas
The air fryer makes some amazing breakfast foods! Try Air Fryer Turkey Bacon or Air Fryer Sausage Links for some salty protein to balance the sweetness of the danish.
Danish is amazing with a nice cup of coffee. Make some cold brew, or an oatmilk latte to go with your brunch.
Got a leftover problem?
You should end up with a half can of pie filling left over after making these air fryer danishes. Store it in the fridge for up to a week, and use it in other dishes like these:
- Yogurt Mix-in – A bit of cherry pie filling in some plain Greek yogurt would be a delicious treat.
- Oatmeal Topper – Another breakfast favorite, oatmeal is like a blank canvas and would taste amazing with some cherry pie filling and sliced almonds.
