Recipe Tips & Tricks

  • Warm up your tortillas before assembly. Cold tortillas are a no-go for this recipe. Check out this video for a super easy way to warm up all your tortillas at once in the microwave—in just 1 minute.
  • Customize with your favorite taco fillings. Shrimp tacos are traditionally filled with a cabbage slaw, but you can mix it up and add your favorite fillings. How about adding some Mexican street corn or fresh diced pineapple?
  • Pair it with your favorite salsa. These colorful air fryer shrimp tacos combine delightfully with a homemade mango avocado salsa, a garlic-lime crema, guacamole, or your favorite store-bought salsa.

How to Store Air Fryer Shrimp Tacos

If you have leftovers, just put the ingredients in separate containers (shrimp in one, toppings in another, and tortillas in a Ziploc bag) and store them in the fridge. They’ll last 3-4 days refrigerated.

When you’re ready to reheat it, just warm up your tortillas and shrimp in the microwave or air fryer—a few minutes at 350°F will do the trick—then assemble and enjoy!

Frequently Asked Questions

Should I use flour or corn tortillas?

Typically, shrimp tacos are served with corn tortillas, but you can use whatever tortillas you have on hand. Make sure you warm up your tortillas in the microwave before adding your shrimp and taco fillings.

Do I need to devien shrimp?

A lot of people wonder if it’s dangerous to eat shrimp without deveining them. After all, the vein is the shrimp’s digestive tract, and it’s filled with shrimpy waste. However, when shrimp are cooked properly, it’s NOT harmful or dangerous to eat the shrimp without deveining them.

It really just depends on your personal preference. If you’d like to devein your shrimp, that’s great. But if you don’t have time, that’s perfectly fine too.

Can I use frozen shrimp?

If you have frozen shrimp, make sure you thaw it before starting the recipe to ensure maximum flavor. If you try to season frozen shrimp, the spices won’t be able to integrate completely into the seafood.
