WHY USE THE AIR FRYER TO REHEAT PIZZA

It’s Fast! You get the same results from reheating pizza in the air fryer as you would in your oven, but in way less time.

Save Energy: No Need to heat up the whole house just to reheat a slice of pizza anymore! The air fryer is also great for reheating pizza in small spaces, apartment living, RV kitchens, or long stays at hotels.

It’s Delicious! The texture of air fryer reheated pizza is going to be way better than if you reheated it in the microwave. The microwave tends to overcook leftover pizza, while the air fryer perfectly warms it up, crisping the crust and re-melting the cheese.

SHOULD I PREHEAT THE AIR FRYER?

Yes! While I don’t often recommend preheating the air fryer, when I’m reheating things in it, preheating is key.

Starting at a high temperature ensures that the food I’m reheating doesn’t get overcooked or dried out while it’s hanging out in the air fryer waiting for the temperature to get hot enough.

To preheat the air fryer for reheating pizza, let the air fryer run, empty, for 5 minutes. That should be enough time to get it up to temperature.

SHOULD I SPRAY PIZZA WITH OIL TO REHEAT IN THE AIR FRYER?

No oil is needed when you reheat pizza in air fryer. Depending on the toppings you have on the pizza, there is likely enough oil on it already to crisp things up.

HOW TO REHEAT PIZZA IN THE AIR FRYER OVEN

The instructions for reheating pizza in an air fryer oven or air fryer toaster oven are exactly the same as reheating pizza in a basket-style air fryer.

Be sure to have the rack in the center of the air fryer oven when reheating pizza.

I say this often, but it’s worth repeating: All air fryers cook differently, so be sure to keep an eye on your food as it’s cooking. Pizza may reheat faster in an oven-style air fryer.

HOW LONG TO REHEAT PIZZA IN AIR FRYER

It takes between 3-5 minutes to reheat pizza in a preheated air fryer. The time will depend on the size and thickness of your pizza slices.

Thin crust pizza only needs about 3 minutes to reheat in the air fryer.

Thick crust or deep dish pizza will need closer to 5 minutes to warm all the way through.

CAN YOU USE A PIZZA STONE IN AN AIR FRYER?

It is safe to put a pizza stone in the air fryer. Just be sure that the stone you plan to use will fit!

I don’t find that a pizza stone is necessary for reheating pizza in the air fryer though, and actually complicates the process a bit.

If you do decide to reheat your pizza on a pizza stone, be sure to put it in the air fryer while you’re preheating it so that the stone gets hot too.

HOW DO I KEEP MY TOPPINGS FROM BURNING?

If you’re reheating a very thick slice of pizza in the air fryer, there is a possibility that the toppings will brown up too much while the pizza is heating through.

Simply pull off the toppings before adding the pizza to the air fryer, and put them back for the last 2-3 minutes of cooking time.

HOW DO I KNOW WHEN PIZZA IS REHEATED IN THE AIR FRYER?

When the cheese is melted and the pizza is sizzling on top, it’s done! Avoid overcooking the pizza, as it could dry out if left in the air fryer for too long.

CAN I REHEAT CHICKEN WINGS IN THE AIR FRYER TOO?

Have some leftover buffalo wings to reheat? The air fryer can absolutely take care of that for you!

I recommend reheating wings for 4-5 minutes at 360°F/180°C.

This is a slightly higher temperature than I like for reheating pizza, but if you want to reheat a slice of pizza and a couple of wings at the same time, you can reheat the wings in the preheated 330°F/165°C air fryer. they may take a few minutes longer than the pizza does.
