How to Make Them
- Wash the asparagus to remove any dirt and debris from the stalks.
- Trim the ends off the asparagus.
- Put the trimmed asparagus in the air fryer basket. Spray asparagus with a spritz of oil and season with salt and pepper before cooking at 400 degrees for 6 minutes.
- Drizzle cooked asparagus with lemon and serve!
How to Trim Asparagus
The base of an asparagus stalk is woody and fibrous – the opposite of delicious. Trim the stalks where the green begins to fade to white.
Want to dirty fewer dishes?
Grab the bottom of the stalk and bend until it snaps! No knife is needed.
How to Store Fresh Asparagus
This recipe can be made with fresh or frozen asparagus, but sometimes I buy a bunch of asparagus to cook over a few weeks.
Asparagus can stay fresh in the refrigerator up to two weeks.
Here's how:
- Trim off a bit of the asparagus stems, but not as much as you'd trim before cooking.
- Add a couple of inches of water to a glass or jar.
- Place asparagus upright, with the base in the water.
- Loosely cover asparagus tips with a plastic bag or plastic wrap. Keep in the fridge for up to two weeks.
