WHAT TO DO WITH HARD BOILED EGGS IN THE AIR FRYER

Hard boiled eggs are really pretty versatile. I like to cook up a dozen or more and keep them in the fridge, peeled, as quick protein packed snacks for me or the kids.

Use your hard boiled eggs in recipes like potato salad, or deviled eggs or even egg salad!

Dice up the eggs and mix with some mayonnaise and a little bit of mustard or pesto for a simple egg salad to serve on toast.

ARE AIR FRYER EGGS REALLY THE SAME AS BOILED EGGS?

Of course, we aren’t actually boiling these eggs. Instead we are cooking them with the convection heat given by the air fryer.

It’s okay if you don’t want to call these hard “boiled” eggs since they aren’t being cooked in boiling water, but these eggs do come out cooked just the same as if they were boiled.

WHY COOK HARD BOILED EGGS IN THE AIR FRYER?

You might wonder why we are making eggs in the air fryer rather than just boiling them the traditional way. There are a few reasons why I think air frying eggs is a great idea!

Using an air fryer to cook eggs is perfect for camping, traveling, or for anyone who is cooking without a full kitchen.

Once you know how to make eggs like this, it just becomes easier than boiling. I think it’s easier do do them this way because there are less dishes to clean, the ability to “set it and forget it” and the way the eggs just always come out perfect.

This is so perfect for camping! I hate dealing with boiling water when we’re out in the camper so I do a lot in the air fryer. Will be trying this very soon.

  2. I tried this and will never do it again.
I have a Ninja Air Fryer. I could not even get it to air fry at 270. I had to put it on “roast.”
I cut a couple of minutes off as instructed because my kind of air fryer is allegedly hotter.
The eggs were very soft-boiled on the inside. All twelve of them and were EXTREMELY difficult to peel even after a 6+ minute ice bath. Most of the eggs, stuck to the shells and ended up in the trash.
From now on, I’ll stick to my Instantpot to do eggs.

    1. Hello Tenderrlee! Thanks for writing. Sorry to hear that your machine wasn’t able to do the eggs on an air fryer mode at 270F. Each machine does run differently and can be confusing. If you are up for experimenting, I would do 1-2 eggs at a time and experiment and adjust. Or using your instant pot works well too!

    1. The recipe is written for 270F not C, so it looks like you cooked them at too high of a temperature if you cooked them at 200C. I updated the recipe to also give the conversion for C. It would be around 132C. I hope that helps 🙂 – The AFE Team
