Recipe Tips & Tricks
- Slice your fry slices about ½ inch to 1 inch thick. If your pumpkin fries are sliced too thin (or if the ends are too narrow) they will get charred in the air fryer.
- Make them sweet! These fries are savory and salty, but you can easily turn them into sweet pumpkin fries by swapping the seasonings for 1 tablespoon of pumpkin spice seasoning and 2 tsp of brown sugar. Drizzle some maple syrup on top when they come out of the air fryer and it’s a sweet fall treat!
- Don’t have any pumpkins? Make it with butternut squash. If you can’t find any pie pumpkins, you can make these fries with butternut squash, which has a similar texture to pumpkin.
What to Serve with Air Fryer Pumpkin Fries
You can serve these air fryer pumpkin fries with ketchup, mayo, aioli, or your favorite dipping sauce. You can also use them as a side dish and serve them with a protein and rice, a chicken sandwich, or a turkey burger.
