INGREDIENTS FOR PORK ROAST IN NINJA FOODI

Pork Roast: Here we are air frying a pork loin roast, but you can use this recipe to make a pork tenderloin, a pork sirloin roast, or any type of lean, boneless pork roast you like. If your pork roast has a lot of fat on it, trim it off.

Garlic Herb Seasoning: I love this shortcut ingredient. The blend I have is a mixture of granulated garlic, salt, and other herbs and spices.

Salt: You can leave out this extra salt if your seasoning blend is salty enough, or you’re watching your sodium intake.

Chili Powder: This gives the pork roast a tiny bit of heat!

Onion Powder: This balances out the garlic nicely and gives the pork a well-rounded, roasted flavor.

  2. Coat all sides of the pork roast with the seasonings (garlic herb seasoning, onion powder, chili powder, and salt), ensuring that they are evenly distributed.
  3. Place the roast in the Cook & Crisp basket of the Foodi, and cook for 15 minutes on the Bake/Roast setting.
  4. Flip the roast over, and cook for additional time as suggested in the recipe below, or until the internal temperature of the pork roast reaches 145°F/63°C. Allow it to rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.

NINJA FOODI PORK ROAST TIPS

  • Use this recipe to cook a pork loin, pork tenderloin, or any style of lean, boneless pork roast in the Ninja Foodi.
  • If your roast is larger, cut it into pieces that will fit in the Ninja Foodi basket. You should cook each piece separately for the best results.
  • Adjust the seasonings any way that you like. Pork is also delicious with paprika, fresh black pepper, rosemary, or other spice blends.
  • We are using the Roast/Bake setting rather than the Air Crisp setting in this recipe. The fan moves slower in this mode, allowing for slightly slower cooking, which is perfect for keeping pork tender and moist.
  • You can shred or chop this roast and use it to make tacos, Cuban sandwiches, or any other recipes that call for cooked pork. Try adding Foodi Pork Roast to Air Fryer Fried Rice!

WHAT TO SERVE WITH NINJA FOODI PORK ROAST

Pork Roast can be enjoyed with any side dishes that you and your family enjoy! It’s a very versatile protein. Try some of these dishes that go particularly well with pork.

Simple Steamed Veggies and Air Fryer Baked Potatoes help create a balanced and filling meal.

Sweet Potatoes, either baked whole, in a Sweet Potato Casserole, or as Sweet Potato Fries are delicious with pork.

Another sweet side dish that is perfect with a pork roast is Air Fryer Baked Apples.

WHAT SIZE PORK ROAST CAN I MAKE IN THE NINJA FOODI?

The size of pork roast that you can make in your Foodi depends on what will fit in the basket.

A boneless pork loin roast of between 1.5 and 3 pounds should fit in the smaller Foodi Cook and Crisp Basket. I’m cooking with a 5-quart Ninja Foodi, and this roast was just under 2 pounds.

If your roast is too long to fit in the basket, you’ll want to trim it so that it fits, or cut it into two pieces. When cooking more than one piece of roast, cook them each separately for best results.

For a long, thin pork tenderloin, you can put the whole thing in the basket if it fits in a circular shape, so long as it’s not touching or overlapping at all.

HOW LONG TO COOK PORK ROAST IN NINJA FOODI

The exact time that it takes to cook a pork roast in the Ninja Foodi will depend on the size of the roast. The 2 lb pork roast cooking time will be different than that for a 1 or a 3-pound pork roast.

Here are some guidelines for air frying different pork roasts in the Ninja Foodi:

  • Pork Tenderloin: This skinny, tender cut of pork cooks more quickly than other roasts. Cook in the Foodi for 10 minutes, then flip over and cook for 8-10 minutes more.
  • Pork Loin Roast: A thicker cut from the center of the pork loin (sometimes called pork rib roast). This roast will take between 25-35 minutes to cook fully using this method.
  • Pork Sirloin Roast: This type of lean roast will also take 25-35 minutes total.
  • Bone-In Pork Roasts: This recipe is not ideal for pork roasts with bones, such as rib roasts. If you try it, keep in mind that you may need to add additional time.

You’ll need to be flexible and check your roast frequently to be sure not to overcook or undercook it. An instant-read thermometer is the best tool for this job. Pork roast is safe to eat when it reaches an internal temperature of 145°F/63°C.

DO I USE THE AIR CRISP SETTING OR THE BAKE ROAST SETTING?

The Ninja Foodi uses the Crisping lid for all of its non-pressure functions. The crisping lid includes a fan that creates the perfect air frying setup, moving hot air all around the food.

With the Foodi, the difference between the Air Crisp setting and the Bake/Roast setting is in the speed of the fan. In Bake/Roast, the fan moves a bit slower, allowing for a longer cooking time and a more gentle cooking experience. This is ideal for pork, as it responds better to lower, slower cooking methods.

Even with the slightly longer time, Your pork roast will still be ready in a fraction of the time that it would take in the oven!

HOW DO I MAKE PORK ROAST IN A NEWER NINJA FOODI?

The newer Ninja Foodi Models only have one lid! They are also bigger and have more functions than the older Foodi Multicookers do.

Follow the manufacturer’s instructions to use the Foodi as an Air Fryer by sliding the SmartLidSlider. Cook using the Bake/Roast setting as instructed in the recipe card.

DO I ADD OIL TO PORK ROAST IN THE AIR FRYER?

If you want to, you can add a thin layer of olive oil to the pork roast before adding the seasonings. This will make the outside extra crispy, but it’s not at all necessary.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN PORK TENDERLOIN AND PORK LOIN?

A pork tenderloin is a thin, narrow cut of meat that is cut from the loin of the animal. It is a very tender, lean cut of meat.

Pork loin comes from the back of the pig and is a larger roast. It will be less tender, but still tasty.

You can cook either a pork loin or a pork tenderloin in the Ninja Foodi using this recipe. Just adjust the time to match the size of your roast.

HOW TO STORE LEFTOVERS

Keep any leftover pork roast in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. Reheat leftover slices of roast in the Ninja Foodi on the air fry setting, at 375°F/190°C for 4 or 5 minutes.

DOES PORK NEED TO REST?

Yes, you should always let the meat rest after cooking it and before cutting into it. This brief rest time allows the juices in the pork roast to redistribute evenly into the meat, as they all rush to the outside while the meat is cooking.

I was looking for a recipe to use up the pork I had in my fridge, and this one did not disappoint! I can’t believe how easy it was, and no alien ingredients like you find in some other recipes – I already had everything in my cupboard.
The meat was so tender and cooked to perfection. I will certainly be on the lookout for your other Ninja Foodi recipes!
    Thank you

This was beyond delicious, with perfect seasoning for pork! Cooked an approx. 2lb loin roast in my Ninja Foodi 5 Grill (just fit!). Took my roast out to rest after the last 30 minutes to avoid any pink meat (can’t get used to pink pork). Beautifully moist, with a lovely, crunchy crust on the outside. Added potatoes cut to about 1.5” chunks around the roast for the last 30 mins, then then up to 400 for 5 minutes. Made a rich gravy to complete the savoriness of this wonderful roast. A heartfelt thank you, Cindy, for so generously sharing this truly wonderful recipe. A new favourite!
